ULG founder speaks at the National Enterprise Academy
18-06-2010
ULG
founder, Craig Robinson was invited to attend and speak to students
at the National Enterprise Academy ("NEA"), the vision of Peter
Jones CBE, leading entrepreneur and one of the stars from the BBC's
Dragons' Den. Craig spoke to students about his journey into the
legal profession, experiences as a commercial lawyer and his
motivation behind setting up ULG. Craig also offered students
focussed
support, advice and guidance on the areas of their future career
planning they are finding most challenging.
The NEA was set up to be a catalyst for cultural change in the UK, encouraging and stimulating more entrepreneurial activity. The NEA's goal is to equip young people for the future by providing them with the skills and confidence to raise their aspirations and be more successful in the workplace or starting their own businesses.
The NEA was launched in association with the Government last year, and runs a full-time education programme in enterprise and entrepreneurship. The aim is to provide a breeding ground for some of the brightest young business minds in the country, where talented, ambitious young people can develop and hone their business skills. The NEA's approach is to bring the everyday business environment, i.e. the boardroom, to the classroom. This heralded a new approach to vocational education and offers a pioneering qualification that is tailored to shape the business leaders of the future.
The NEA is funded by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, along with other Government development agencies. It is part of the National Skills Academy Network. The NEA's current business partners include: Barclays; Orange; Grant Thornton; Pinewood studio; Manchester City Football Club and Selfridges & Co.
